Went to check my mail today and there was a little envelope with just my box number on the outside. Curious to see what it was, I tore it open to find a hand written note and 42 cents. The note:
"On the parcel to USA today I charged GST in error. Sorry. H."
I didn't even know the lady at the post office knew my name, let alone my box number. And there's no way I ever would have noticed the error. I guess if something is over $5 to the US there is no GST. Gave me warm fuzzies to think that she'd gone to the trouble to track me down for a mere 42 cents.
P.S. The parcel is for L. of course.
